Jailed For “Friend” Requests:
54-year-old Harry Bruder of Pasco County, Florida was arrested for sending a Facebook friend request to his estranged wife.
The reason that was illegal is because Bruder had a domestic violence restraining order against him filed by his wife.
Normally I would give him ‘the award’ but I don’t find domestic violence very funny.

Staten Island teen will face charges in MySpace case:
You would think that this would be common sense but obviously it isn’t. When a restraining order has been issued against you and you’re not supposed to contact the victim in any way, that includes MySpace. So says New York judge Matthew A. Sciarrino.
16-year-old Melissa Fernino was orderd not have any contact with an unnamed 43-year-old woman and her daughters. Apparently Ms. Fernino didn’t think that MySpace was covered under that order when she sent a friend request to the woman.
Prosecutors allege Ms. Fernino, 16, sent the Internet messages on August 23. Ms. Fernino had a “long history” of making “extremely violent” threats against the alleged victim and her daughters, a law-enforcement source said. The woman had dated Ms. Fernino’s father, said the source. The alleged victims’ names are being withheld due to the nature of the crime. The girls’ ages were not immediately available today.
Fernino could be sentenced to a year in jail on charges of second degree criminal contempt.
