Mom in MySpace case says it was properly dismissed:
As I’m sure we all know by now Lori Drew’s fraud conviction was tossed by a federal judge. As I’m sure you also know Drew is the one thought responsible into harassing 13-year-old Megan Meier with a fake MySpace into killing herself.
Megan’s mother, Tina Meier, said she was disappointed with the ruling but she wouldn’t want to be Lori Drew and thinks she’s already serving a life sentence.
I wish I could agree you with you Mrs. Meier but it doesn’t seem like Drew has any remorse whatsoever as Drew praised the ruling and claims that she “simply did not do” what she was accused of.
Even though Lori Drew isn’t going to jail like she deserves the karma train will pull in to her station one day.

Arlington teen’s nude photos posted on MySpace:
An unnamed 18-year-old has nbeen arrested by police in Washington for posting the nude pics of a 14-year-old Arlington, WA girl on MySpace and threatening the girl.
“I’m not gonna ever leave you alone til your dead,” one of the messages said, according to a search warrant filed in Snohomish Superior Court.
The man allegedly demanded the girl take nude pictures of herself and send them to him. He then posted the pictures on MySpace pages on the Internet, police said.
What a freakin’ tool. I hope his offenses are made well known while he’s in lock up.
And for you sick freaks who are looking for the pics I have it on good authority they can be found here.

Sentencing delayed for Mo. woman in MySpace hoax:
Today was supposed to be D-Day for Lori Drew. She was supposed to find out what her sentence would be in her fraud trial. You know, the fraud that resulted in the suicide of 13-year-old Megan Meier.
Anyway, the judge rescheduled the sentencing for July 2nd pending his review of the testimony of a prosecution witness.
It’s not like she’s going to receive any real time in comparison to the fact that a family lost their child because of her.

Web page details victim’s sexual assault:
A 22-year-old woman from Alaska was the victim of a sexual assault 3 years ago. Someone she knows decided to post the details of that assault on a MySpace page along with the comments “I think you got raped because you dress like a hooker. Your shirts are three sizes too small,” among others.
You know it would suck that if whoever did this ended up in jail and on the receiving end of such an assault. Yep, that would be a real shame.

Probation, fine recommended for woman convicted in Internet harassment case:
A presentence report recommends probation and a $5,000 fine for the Missouri woman convicted of three misdemeanors linked to the online harassment of a suburban St. Louis teenager who committed suicide.
How sad is it that Megan Meier’s life is only worth $5000. I’m sure her family will have comfort in knowing that.

Irmo man arrested for cyber crime:
19-year-old Erron Houston of Irmo, SC was given the password to his ex-girlfriend’s MySpace by his ex-girlfriend. Apparently the split didn’t end well because Houston posted pornographic pictures of her on her own MySpace. He also changed the password so she couldn’t remove the pictures. He also posted her cell phone # on her MySpace resulting in a slew of harassing phone calls.
Houston is in jail charged with unlawful communication.
Again ladies, don’t let your significant others hold on to the nude pics. Once they’re out there they’re out there forever.

MySpace ruling could lead to jail for lying online daters:
Another over-reactionary column about the Lori Drew conviction. I’m sick of them. This is not the end of anonymity on the internet. If it was I’d be the first person to sign off.
Everybody is forgetting one certain thing. Lori Drew and company violated MySpace’s TOS with the expressed intent of harassing Megan Meier no matter what the outcome of that was. Unfortunately the outcome of their actions was Megan’s suicide.
I don’t think federal prosecutors are going to run around prosecuting everybody who uses a fake name on MySpace.
Un-wad your panties people.

MySpace Suicide Defendant Asks Again For Case Dismissal:
The attorneys representing Lori Drew are once again asking for a dismissal in her federal fraud case. If you do not recall Lori Drew allegedly posed as a teenage boy by the name of Josh Evans on MySpace in order to harass 13-year-old Megan Meier. Megan was so distraught that she committed suicide.
Her attorneys argue that the federal statute that she was charged under only applies to interstate theft.
The prosecution claims the Drew committed theft of information by obtaining information about Megan Meier through deceit.
A hearing will be held on the matter on Oct 30th.

Judge tentatively refuses to dismiss Internet case:
Federal Judge George H. Wu rejected two motions today to dismiss the charges against Lori Drew. Drew of course is the hosebeast who basically caused the suicide of Megan Meier by posing as a boy on MySpace then humiliating Meier.
Judge Wu is still considering a third motion and plans to make a decision in a few days.
Barring dismissal a trial date has been set for October, 7th.

Man Agrees To Plea For ‘Degrading’ MySpace Page:
22-year-old Matthew Aiudi of Connecticut was sentenced to one year suspended for creating a fake MySpace that harassed a female friend of his brother.
Aiudi posted a fake page purported to be hers, announcing on the page that the woman was interested in casual sex with strangers, especially older men.
So you can imagine the hilarity that did ensue from it.
Aiudi has also been restricted from computer usage unless it’s for work or school and is only able to reply to emails from family members only.
