My thoughts on the 14-year-old girl charged with child porn for posting her own nude pics on MySpace

I’m sure by now you’ve all heard about the 14-year-old girl from New Jersey who was arrested on child porn charges for posting explicit nude pics of herself on MySpace.
In the past I’ve had no problems with teens who get charged for child porn when they posted pics of another underage kid on MySpace but this is just idiotic. Even Maureen Kanka, the mother of Megan Kanka the namesake of Megan’s Law, says this girl needs help not prison.
According to the second article link I posted more than like the girl will avoid jail time by entering into a plea with prosecutors. Again this is idiotic. The only thing the girl is guilty of is lack of common sense and a lack of self respect.
However I do think that somebody should be charged with a crime. Her parents should be charged with negligence for allowing this to happen in my opinion. I know the law doesn’t work that way but in a perfect world this girl’s parents, or parent, would be held liable for not keeping better track of their daughter’s online activities.
This is how girls end up getting abducted. As a parent you need to remain ever vigilant of your kids’ online activities.
And for those pervs who I know are looking for the pics in question I have it on good authority that they can be found here.
RI man charged with using MySpace to solicit sex:
A resource officer in a middle school in West Warwick, RI received complaints about a man who was contacting some students there inappropriately on MySpace.
The West Warwick police then set up a fake MySpace posing as a 13-year-old girl. That’s how they were able to capture 28-year-old Edgar Braley. They arrested him when he showed up to a pizza joint where he thought he was meeting the ‘girl’.
MySpace helps crack Franklin vandalism case:
My favorite crime to post about here at MCS is vandalism. Usually because the suspects are stupid enough to brag about their crimes on MySpace. This story is no exception.
In Franklin, Indiana a group of vandals calling themselves the “One Love Crew” were busted after police found a MySpace detailing their vandalism. The crew consisted of David Britton, Dexton Duncan, Nicholas Shinnamon, Matthew Myers and Jerry T. Eisenminger.

40-year-old Thuron L. Hammersley of Port St. Lucie, Florida allegedly lured a 20-year-old Georgia woman to his house, held her captive and sexually assaulted her.
According to police Hammersley lured her to Florida by buying her a bus ticket (classy) and promising her a modeling gig. After she got there Hammersley allegedly would not let her leave the house and limited her communication to the outside. He also allegedly got the victim drunk and sexually assaulted her twice.
Hammersley’s wife was allegedly home at the time this all took place but for some reason has not been charged yet.
Girls, let this act as a warning. People that could actually help you get a legitimate modeling gig don’t use MySpace. They have professionally designed websites. Unless the modeling is for amateur porn than they might use MySpace. And they sure as hell don’t use Greyhound.

A 14-year-old girl at Handley Middle School in Fort Worth, Texas was stabbed in the chest with scissors by a classmate. The stabbing allegedly occurred when the victim and another girl got into an argument over some MySpace comment that happened while the school was on spring break.
Luckily the wounds were not life threatening and he scissors wielding girl was arrested.
Both sets of parents should have been keeping a closer eye on their kids. Then one wouldn’t have puncture wounds and the other wouldn’t have an arrest record.

Two girls ages 13 and 14 from Delphos, Ohio were arrested for fighting. The pair were allegedly fighting over insults traded on MySpace. They also used MySpace to plan the fight.
Let’s go over this again.
First off the 13-year-old had no business being on Myspace. Secondly maybe if their parents had beeen checking on their MySpaces this could have been prevented, in theory.
I’m guessing their parents don’t really care.

A 12 or 13-year-old girl, depending on what report you read, was stopped at Boston’s Logan airport where she already had a pane ticket to L.A. She was on her way to L.A. to meet someone who she believed was a 16-year-old boy who allegedly had Hollywood contacts and would introduce her to actor Dylan Sprouse, whoever that is.
So far police do not have a suspect.
Again at her age she had no business being on MySpace.

POLICE: Newport man had sex with teen from MySpace;
Blockhead over there is 34-year-old Jeffrey Sellner of Newport, Minn. He’s been charged with having sex with a 13-year-old girl he met over MySpace. The girl allegedly came over to Sellner’s house then the pair allegedly had sex in a park.
Parents, here’s another reason why you should keep tabs on your kids’ MySpace activities. They may end up being knocked up by a creepy man and end up have square headed babies.

Chala had been previously deported to Mexico but we all know how well that works.
