Centennial Outcast Unmasked
The other day I did an entry about the kid from Centennial High in Georgia who called himself “Centennial Outcast” who was arrested for making a threat against his school on his MySpace. It turns out he has a real MySpace too. Thanks to Mr. A his real MySpace can be found here.
His “about me” section had this to say…
Ha ha… about me.. well my name is michael. i’m 16 but everyone thinks im 18. i go to centennial high, which i don’t like, and i cant wait till i get out of there. there are so many rude kids and fakes there… i’m on the cross country and track team im not fast i just a good distance runner lol… i’m deaf… but everyone knows that so if you want me to understand you, then you will have to get next to my ear and scream as loudly as you can… ha ha not really im just hard of hearing, but i can hear pretty good… i think… half of my life has been inside hearing testing booths so thats why im pretty quiet and still most of the time. ive made a lot of mistakes in my past but who hasnt? my dad is jewish and my mom is methodst, so i am a messianic jewish, which is the best of both worlds. i go to temple reguarly and i have been making an effort to clean up my past ways and become a mature responsible christian…anyways i believe that life is too short to waste but we all end up wasting it cuz there seems like theres nothing to do… i’d like to talk to anyone, whoever, it dont matter… id make friends with anyone… i like to talk about whatever the person im talking to is interested it, so i like to talk about anything… and i love hanging out with people. i usually wont pass up the chance for anything.
So we can dispel one myth right off the bat, the kid is a jock.
Also the fact that he has a hearing impairment goes along with what this article had to say…
The teen told Judge Jones that the threats had to do with a lack of acceptance at school, which he attributed, in part, to the fact that he wears a cochlear implant. He said he only felt loved by his family. The judge scolded the teenager and informed him that most of the other teens she sees in her courtroom do not even know their parents and have a tenth of what he possesses. She scheduled another hearing for next month.
I don’t know if it was lack of acceptance or not because according to a blog entry of his entitled “life suxs right now”, it kind of seems like he had trouble keeping friends…
i dont know why i dont like school… its just that i think ive been in the district 2 long and im tired of it now. since i thought i’d be moving, ive just havent been communicating with my friends, and it causes me more problems. sometimes i try really hard to keep relationships going, but its like theres nothing new and the friendship deteriorates.
Previously I had called this kid a mutant. To be honest I really don’t think he is. I think he just put scumbags Harris and Klebold as his heroes on the Centennial Outcast MySpace just to make it look like a legitimate threat. The kid doesn’t strike me as your typical school shooter-worshipping mutant.
I feel bad for the kid. I really do. But he made the choice of making this threat, legitimate or otherwise, and now he has to live with his actions.

Where was the threat again? Or did I miss it? I read that whole thing and all I saw was “I can’t wait to get out of there”…

The threat wasn’t on that MySpace. It was on one that has since been deleted.

A week ago I told you about a kid from Centennial High in Georgia who called himself “Centennial Outcast” who was arrested for making a Columbine-Like threat on a MySpace. At the time I thought the time that that MySpace was deleted. That turns out not

The kid that did this now goes to my school. He’s a cool kid, and the whole thing was a joke.
